Your son was"13"? At what point do the parents that made the "bad" decision not to follow the safety warnings that ended in a child getting killed, come into the scheme of things? I hear there have been a few prosecuted for child endangerment, one has been convicted for man slaughter. If you're as concerned as you make it sound you should be addressing this in your cause also. Want to stop the deaths, Prosecute the adults that made the decision to endanger their children. I think it's about time the DA's step up and hold these parents responsible. Like you I think there is a problem, we just differ on the cause.
My family and I enjoy our Rhino's. We adhere to the safety warnings and consider ourselves to be responsible riders and parents.

Yamaha's Rhino safety recommendations and guidelines, which are posted on TruthAboutRhino.com, include:
*** Drivers must be 16 years or older and have a valid motor vehicle license. Children under 16 should never drive a RhinoTo ride in a Rhino, a passenger must be tall enough to place both feet flat on the floorboard with his or her back against the seat back and be able to reach the passenger hand holds.
Driver and passenger should always wear seatbelts and protective gear/clothing including: Helmet, Eye protection, Gloves, Over-the-ankle boots, Long sleeves and Long pants.
Drivers and passengers should stay completely inside the vehicle at all times.
Rhinos are designed for off-road use only. They should never be operated on public roads or paved surfaces.
As with any motor vehicle, safety features are no substitute for driving responsibly. Avoid aggressive or reckless use of the Rhino.

Who are you trying to kid? The driver of the rhino that your daughter was riding with was convicted for man slaughter and you blame Yamaha? Be accountable for allowing your daughter to ride with a dangerous driver which you yourself had the courts prosecute!

I can not beleive people are winning law suits against yamaha, YOU CANNOT Engineer out stupid. I have a 08/700 Rhino I have added performance parts and bigger tires. I live in Florence Oregon home of the Oregon Dunes, I have almost 1500 miles on my rhino and my freinds and I have rolled mine on it's side 5 times. But we wear the seat belts and keep our body parts inside the vehicle when we roll. My neigbor had a rhino and still owns a Terx also is buying a RZR, they all will roll over when driving a little crazy.

i have had a 2007 rhino 660 and have a 700 know and i have driven them both on flat ground at slow, medium, and fast speeds going straight and turning and have never rolled them or gotten them on two wheels. i have many years of experience on atvs and side x sides. i think the rhino is very safe [ seat belts, hand holds, doors etc.] there is no way it will turn over going slow in a turn on flat ground. i have seen videos on the internet on you tube that shows how people get injured. its by acting careless then they want to sue the manufactures when it was there fault. look at the reason three wheelers were outlawed from manufacture because parents purchased there 10, 11, 12, and 13 year old kids racing three wheelers designed for 16 year and older experienced riders. when i used to crash my three wheelers and 4wheelers i did not sue the manufactures because it was my fault. if i were to roll my rhino over it would be because i was driving reckless. its not the rhinos fault it cannot drive itself. so stop all the lawsuits and take responsibility for your own actions.

This once again (because people fail to use proper due care) this is only going to drive prices up for already financially strapped consumers. The raise in insurance rates will go directly into product pricing and all will suffer because of greed in our society. Also is'nt it interesting that during Obama's latest meeting with Bush and the rest of our living presidents-while Bush was saying he wanted to see Obama succeed simultaneously barrel prices fell as simultaneously prices at the pumps went on the increase, AGAIN! "Who's zooming who???" Looks like another deal with the Devil. How many horsemen did you see? Looking forward to 12-21-12. Who's your Daddy???

I OWN A RHINO AND LET ME SAY THAT I AM SO SORRY FOR THE DEATHS THAT HAVE OCCURRED . I HAVE BEEN RIDING ATVS ALL MY LIFE,I AM 40. AS FAR AS THE RHINO ,I HAVE OWNED IT 2 YEARS NOW AND LET ME SAY ,THERE IS NO WAY I CAN TURN IT OVER UNLESS I DO SOMETHING REALLY STUPID ON IT! I AM NOT CALLING THESE FOLKS STUPID , I AM JUST SAYING, APPARENTLY THEY HAD NO PROPER TRAINING ON HOW TO RIDE . IT SEEMS NO ONE WEARS PROTECTIVE GEAR! I ALWAYS DO!!IT IS NOT THE RHINOS FAULT! IT IS THE SAME WITH A GUN-GUNS DON'T GO AROUND ON THEIR OWN KILLING PEOPLE---IT IS ALWAYS IN SOME NUTCASES HAND. IS IT THE GUNS FAULT??!! NOW I DO BELIEVE THAT ACCIDENTS DO HAPPEN TO THE MOST CAREFUL AT TIMES BUT MOST OF THESE CASES ARE WHERE SOMEONE DID SOMETHING LIKE DOING DONUTS OWN A RHINO AND SOMEONE DIES!! I am ambivalent about this. On the one hand the manufacturer knows these vehicles are dangerous, but on the other hand the public knows SUVs are dangerous too, yet they continue to buy them. I had a big fight with my wife and to yield to a dangerous SUV.

all of the incedents I have reviewed on rhino rollovers all point to one thing, pure stupidity. The rhino is one of the most stable vehicles I have ever driven. Lets let the drivers take resposibility for their own actions as is required by law with all other motor vehicles. Ford, Chevy or Dodge don't have lawsuits thrown at them when the driver is doing something wrong that results in an injury or death

It kills me to know that a baby was lost due to someone else's mistake.

I commend John and Tammie for their courage and persistence in establishing this website as both a memorial for their daughter and other Rhino victims, and as a forum to publicize the dangers presented by the Rhino.

The fact that Yamaha persists in offering the same product without signifcant improvements is shocking. Too, talking to Yamaha salespersons one would think the Rhino is the safest vehicle around.

I also lost a duaghter and can feel John and Tammie's pain and suffering.

Let's hope that Ymaha fixes their design defect and no one else is killed or injured. That's my prayer.

Don't you, as an American, have the right to not purchase something if you don't want to? Also, shouldn't anything that is marketed be forced to at least reach certain benchmarks for safety? This is a hard issue to stand on, as both sides are rather shifty in terms of how their arguments hold up.
